Simple Summary: Bustro uses your location to show nearby bus stops and collects anonymous usage analytics to improve the app. We don't collect personal information or track you across other apps.

When: Only when you open the app or use location features
Storage: Not stored on our servers - stays on your device

What: Your favorite bus stops, custom names, and chosen icons/colors

Storage: Stored locally on your device and synced via iCloud (if enabled)

Usage Analytics

What: App usage patterns, feature interactions, and error events
Why: To improve app performance and user experience
Examples: Bus stop views, menu interactions, rating prompts, user engagement
Service: Collected via Firebase Analytics (Google)

Crash and Error Reports

What: Technical information when the app crashes or encounters errors

2. Information We DON'T Collect

Personal identification (name, email, phone number)
Your location when app is closed

We use the collected information solely to:

Show bus stops near your current location
Calculate and display walking distances
Save your favorite stops and preferences

Singapore LTA (Land Transport Authority): For real-time bus data (we don't send your location to them)
Apple Weather: For weather information (handled by iOS, not us)
Apple iCloud: For syncing your preferences and favorites (if enabled by you)
Map Services: When you choose to get directions (Apple Maps, Google Maps, etc.)

Data Shared with Google

Through Firebase services, the following data may be shared with Google:

App usage analytics and interaction events

App configuration requests
No personal identification or location data is shared

5. Data Storage and Security

Local Storage: User preferences and favorites stored on your iPhone and iCloud (if enabled)
Analytics Data: Usage patterns sent to Firebase Analytics for app improvement
Crash Reports: Technical error information sent to Firebase Crashlytics
iOS Security: Protected by Apple's built-in security features
App Deletion: All data is removed when you delete the app

6. Your Privacy Controls

Location Permissions

Control: You can disable location access anytime in Settings > Privacy > Location Services > Bustro
Impact: App will still work, but won't show nearby stops or distances

Data Deletion

Favorites: Delete individual favorites within the app
Local Data: Delete the app to remove all stored information
Analytics Data: Managed by Google's data retention policies (typically 2-14 months)
iCloud Data: Remove from your iCloud settings if you have sync enabled

7. Children's Privacy

Our app is safe for users of all ages. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, as we don't collect personal information from anyone.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy occasionally. We'll notify users of significant changes through app updates. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
